Sony mogło by organizować turnieje i nagrodami (w realu).

http://www.destructoid.com/leaked-shots-of-playstation-home-beta-31291.phtmlTo już było dawno wiadomo. Harrison mówił, że wszystko z Home będzie rostępne bezpośrednio do ściągnięcia/zobaczenia. Nie trzeba będzie łazić.
Dużo screenów.
Z 14 wynika, że normalne ściąganie też będzie możliwe, a home to dodatek. Malkontenci będą usatysfakcjonowani. :)

Aaa no to jakby sobie tak poodejmować to i owo definiując moc Xa to też można pomarzyć o tych 115 GFLOPS'ach.

Seeing as PlayStation Home is also set for release in other territories in Spring 2008, could we expect to see a simultaneous worldwide release? The possibility certainly exists, complete with the potential bells and whistles of a PlayStation Home launch party.
According to members of our forum, several new options are now available in build 0.7.7:

-A game launching option has been added, though it is not functioning completely at the present time
-The cinema's movie theatres have transferred from the second floor to the first floor
-America, Japan, and Europe each have their own server now

Wrapping up we shall take a sneak peak at Home Interactive Item creation.
PlayStation 3's virtual environment has undergone look-and-feel alterations
Sony's forthcoming PlayStation Home platform has undergone key changes in the last few months as a result of feedback from users currently engaged in its beta test.
The virtual world environment, first shown to the public in 2006, has had significant changes made to Home Square and the entrance points to other areas, as well as other places such as the Theatre.
New screens of a recent build of Home, shown to the audience by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's John Venables and Ron Festejo in a session at Imagina 08, demonstrated the new look of what will be every user's first view of the world.
What had been an enclosed room with a large window showing a lush view has now been transformed into a serene outside space, with plenty of room for people to interact, and tables with fully functional chess and draughts games included.
Additionally the entrance points to key content areas - the Theatre and the Bowling Alley - have been redesigned so that they're much more recognisable.
Venables and Festejo also revealed that it was now possible to take your avatar out onto a balcony from your own apartment, and that there would be "around eight or nine" different apartments available at launch, although no new details on potential pricing options for the premium apartments were available.
One of the premium rooms displayed was called Norwegian Lodge, a large wood cabin, much bigger than the basic apartment, and while all of the existing apartment designs were based on real-world locations, Festejo commented that he could see more fantastic options, such as a room in the clouds, becoming available should there be user demand for it.
PlayStation Home is currently on track for a Spring 2008 launch, and will be free to download for all PlayStation 3 users.
Home™ is a real-time 3D, networked community that serves as a meeting place for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) users from around the world, where they can interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share content and even build their own personal spaces. Home™ will be available as a free download from the PLAYSTATION®Store and will launch directly from the PS3™ system's Home Menu.PlayStation 3 - GDC 07 Home Trailer HD
We just received a very interesting tip that, while juicy and quite believable, we're labeling as rumor for now. As you are probably well aware, GDC executive director Jamil Moledina set Sony's Phil Harrison up for the spike yesterday, claiming that PLAYSTATION 3 owners will be "very happy" when Phil's keynote takes place next week.Could the PlayStation Home, Sony's blending of achievements and Miis be that big surprise? While the rumor seems to make sense, keep in mind while reading through it that it came from an anonymous source and that the half-dozen development studios we spoke with hadn't heard a thing about it.Sony, when contacted earlier today, said they do not comment on rumors or speculation.Playstation Home sounds like it could be an interesting, lo-fi, killer app, as described by our source.
LusoPlay has recieved new details about Home, LittleBigPlanet and in-game XMB.
Lusoplay has returned with safe information about this year's Games Developers Conference. Sony will show the much awaited in-game XMB feature aswell as the LittleBigPlanet-Home interaction.
Furthermore, a big announcement of Home, the public Beta is here. Details to follow at this year's GDC.
In less than an hour PSU will be attending the "Home Tools and Support: Creating Content for PlayStation Home" presentation. Stay tuned to this feature as we'll update it with details and images from the show directly after the event.
According to the GDC guide, this is the basic description of what will be shown during the presentation:
"This presentation will cover a technical overview of the current Home Tools features and the feature roadmaps for the future. Additionally we shall walk through the developer process of creating a space for Home and show a guide to creating 3D mini-games within the Home environments. Wrapping up we shall take a sneak peak at technical requirements for Home Interactive Item creation."
Wow, where to begin. We've just received an email detailing a huge update to the Home beta next week. The update will bring the version number to 0.8.3 (taking us ever closer to its release at v1.0.0) and the information comes from the beta message board on the official PlayStation site, so we're certain it's legit. There's a lot of stuff to go over, so we'll pick out the most interesting bits and paste the full patchlist after the break.
Improvements to the UI and graphics engine mean that Home will look much prettier and be more functional from here on out. You will be able to check who's online from your friends list as well as who is in Home right now. A bubble machine has been made available to all beta testers, to test the new "Home Items" system. Video streaming is now made possible too, so you don't have to wait for a video to download completely before watching it.
The most exciting part of the update is the unveiling of the Marketplace in the main square. The Marketplace is stocked with clothes and furniture as well as other, undisclosed, content. We can't wait to see what's there. Game launching is also now available, though it is currently limited. Games can be started within Home, however the party will not be automatically generated within the game. Also, players with different versions of a game (such as American or European) won't be able to start a game together. The patch notes clearly state, however, that this is only temporary and will be fixed before launch.
We now use an HDR approach to lighting and bloom so the glowing halos around bright objects have been toned down and things should look sharper overall. We've also improved the water shader so all of the water should look noticeably better. The new engine also provides more stable frame rates in very crowded areas.
Support for 1080p is also back.
- The wardrobe is accessible from any location, not just your Home Space.
- A selection of pre-set characters is available with more coming.
- Jewellery is now available for both sexes.
- Improved the look of skin on all characters.
- Your avatar is well lit and has a mirror behind to make customisation much easier.
- The standard list of clothing has been reduced to our intended starting pack.
- More clothing is available from the new Marketplace (see below!).
- Save & Load! You can now save your character in 9 different setups.
- Extra clothing will be added soon to test our update system.
The mystery building in Home Square can now be revealed and it's not a Flamingo Factory as US tester NO FEAR!! recently guessed.
In the Marketplace you'll find stores with all sorts of things for you to add to your character and Home Space such as clothing, furniture and even... well, why not explore it yourself.
Many of the problems that stopped Game Launching from working properly have been fixed; however there are still some temporary issues that you need to know about before you try it:
- Groups formed in PLAYSTATION® Home for Game Launching are not currently preserved into the game. This means that you can all get together and form a group but when you launch the game you will not arrive in a session together. It will not stay like this - we are working with game developers to integrate full support for Game Launching into a range of games. However as stated before, we really wanted to get an early version of Game Launching out so that you could test the menu functionality and see how it works for you within PLAYSTATION® Home.
- Game Launching currently only supports grouping up if you have identical versions of the same game. For example the EU and US versions of Motorstorm may not work together at the moment and there may be problems between the installed and disc version of Warhawk. Again it will not stay like this and eventually all versions of the same game will work together properly.
Whilst the legalities, policies and practicalities of regional travel are addressed we have temporarily disabled the ability to switch between the European, US and Japanese regions via your virtual PSP.
Support for more languages has been added bringing our complete list up to: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, traditional Chinese and Korean.
We needed a way to test our new Home items system and therefore we are proud to present our first one... (Drum roll)... the bubble machine! You can find it in your virtual PSP under Personal> My Inventory. Place it down anywhere you like and blow some bubbles.
- Fixed the problem where you could appear in a location and some other characters there would be invisible.
- Fixed the floating pool balls.
- Fixed the levitating avatars.
- Fixed the issue that led to C967 errors.
- Fixed the inconsistencies between the view inside and outside different locations.
- Fixed the positioning of the PSP in your character's hands.
With the news that Phil Harrison, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, would be stepping down this week, GameDaily BIZ wondered what impact this might have on the still in beta PlayStation Home virtual world/service.
"[It's] business as usual for Home. The projects that Phil has been working on including Home are still on track and are still sticking to their current schedules," a Sony Computer Entertainment America spokesperson told us. "Each title and project is supported by a wide variety of people behind the scenes to ensure the highest quality and execution."
According to Kotaku, the company is looking at prospects for three major titles: Resistance: Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and the online multiplayer title, Warhawk.
First and foremost, Resistance will supposedly allow gamers to explore an “interesting room” where you will be able to intercept UK-US transmissions allowing you to visit previously unreleased locations that didn’t make it into the final product.
Uncharted, meanwhile, will allow you to explore various locations without fear of attack; however, the main attraction featured in Naughty Dog’s contributions to Home comes in the form of a 2D arcade title. Described as being reminiscent of both Contra and Out of This World, the game features a healthy dose of enemies and exploding barrels for players to blast their way through in the classic side-scrolling mold.
Finally, Warhawk will allow players to join a pre-game briefing room, displaying a fully 3D map of the battlefield, enabling users to plan out key strategic points by placing markers on the map itself.

The first video is an introduction showing off a few new places in Home as well as the In-Home game Chess. The first place the player visits is a clothing store called "Threads" where players can purchase clothing items for their character. While the current clothes in the store are free, having a "checkout" and "confirm transaction" screen makes us believe some clothes will eventually cost money.
After leaving Threads, the player moves upstairs to the chess tables and briefly shows how gamers will participate and play Chess.
The video ends with the player entering a store currently called "Home Stuff", where at this time no items are available. Our guess is that "Home Stuff" will be the store where gamers can purchase specialty items like the recently revealed bubble machine.
The next video shows Home's use of the in-game PSP. Using the functionality of the Home PSP, players will be able to access such things as:
- Community (Message of the Day, News, Handy Links, etc)
- Help (First time in Home, Character Customization, Moving to new locations, Your Home Space, and other step-by-step guides)
- Communication (phone a friend, accept call, reject call, etc)
- Game Launching (Create a game, Join a game, View Player List, Cancel game)
- Locations (My Home Space, Home Square, Game Space, Home Theatre, Market Place, Owned Spaces)
- Settings (Themes (skins), Pop-Up Colour, sound, chat window, controls, communication)
- Personal (Go to Wardrobe, Redecorate Home Space, My Inventory, My Purchases, My Profile)
One thing that's interesting about the Create-a-Game menu is that when selected it seems to pull up a list of games that the player may own. The list from the video includes such games as Call of Duty 4, Virtua Tennis 3, SuperStar Dust HD, Motorstorm, Flow, and a few others. Are these games already using Home integration or can Home use any game you own for the PS3?
The last video in the series shows off a few new things including the new bubble machine and Home Theatre. The player begins showing how to access items and interact with them in the world. In this case the bubble machine.
Moving to the Home Theatre, the player brings up the in-game PSP once again, showing how players can create game sessions, in this case Call of Duty 4. Whats interesting is that while in Home, players can choose how many player slots they want available as well as private slots. When the game creation process is finished, a controller icon appears above the players head and a message pops up stating:
"Session Created
Players may now join your game. You may hide this window and re-open at any time from the Game Launching Menu in the PSP."

Official Home release date is July?

Many PS3 forums are alive with persons who claim to have recieved an email invitation to participate in the OPEN beta for Playstation Home on the PS3. This final phase of the roll out for this highly-anticipated Second Life-ish time suck is reported to be set for April 18th."
The article asks several questions of readers including:
" Do you think something like Home would hold your interest beyond the initial roll out?"
"Would you be willing to PAY for Home (monthly)? What about for add-ons and accessories to pimp out your virtual crib?"
Susan Panico, Senior Director of the PlayStation Network has finally stated that "we'll be opening up the Home Beta to the public very soon and hope to see u there." This quote of gold that many users have been asking for was released with the May issue of PlayStation Magazine.
Now, we completely understand that this does not make a date concrete nor does it give you a precise window; fortunately, we feel you can almost narrow the window down on your very own.
The fact that she stated it was coming soon in a May issue means that you probably shouldn't expect it here in April. At the very earliest, you can assume it is coming in May; however, there is a lot of reason to expect Home to launch some time in June, which in all honesty, would probably be the best for all worlds.
With the release of Home in June, it will give you a ton of time for Metal Gear Solid 4 as well as Home. This is because most of our teenage readers will be finished with school and have the ability to just play until they're finally satisfied. Obviously for our older readers, this isn't as luxurious but you'll have to make due.
Details from the Japanese Home beta test revealed just as many new questions as it did answers. The application, which is designed as a virtual world to customize and meet mates in, will be released for free, hopefully this summer. The 500MB code will enable you to setup and develop an online world inside a thriving gaming community.http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/home/preview/home/a-2008040211134369051/g-2007030735622328025
Already games such as Devil May Cry 4 have been released with hundreds of embedded ‘achievements’ which on Home’s release will be converted into trophies, furniture and clothing for your own specific part of Home and avatar. The beta has revealed the flexibility of the software, enabling the 1,500 players who have tested it behind closed doors at Sony to connect with large groups of friends, tour the Home Square environment, moving from disc-based games to watching trailers to playing Home’s free arcade games (which include takes on Chopper Lift, Q-Bert and Super Sprint) all without any trouble. The idea is that eventually, you’ll be able to include similar content in your Home apartment, and invited friends and clan members will be able to sift your media (photos, videos, replays, scores, etc) together while you wait for the party to gather.
When first announced, Sony stated Home wouldn’t be a persistent world - when you leave, your space would close down so friends wouldn’t be able to tour your apartment if you weren’t there. The Japanese beta seems to have thrown this into confusion. Sony is now saying that Home will be a persistent world to such an extent that you will be able to upload media - photos from your holiday, for example, as you take them on your digital camera, in real time.
The big question is how ‘free’ Home will be when it’s released. Extra content will come at a price. Rumors suggest that future demos may come with a charge. The upside is that you should be able to sell content in Home in the same way as EA, Ubisoft and Capcom would do. If you’ve created a level in LittleBigPlanet, perhaps you could charge for it?
Well, another week, another Home story. Except this one's quite interesting: according to this guy (warning: site is advert/banner hell and kills Firefox) enterprising folk have managed to use the Folding@Home exploit to grab v1.00 of Home. Naturally, the whole would explode if people could actually play it, but despite a 200MB download the thing is still locked just now. Waiting for Sony to flick the switch? Looks like it. If they get this thing ready for April 15th, we're in for one hell of a treat next week...
When PlayStation Home finally goes live, a new icon will automatically appear under the [Network] category, without the need to update your firmware. Upon booting your PS3, the console does a simple check on two XML files to see if the service is active in your country. If it is active, the new icon appears and click on it will download the Home package to your PS3. After a bit of "hacking" using PS3 Proxy Server, we managed to get the icon showing on our console and even downloaded the Home beta file. Unfortunately, since the service isn't yet active, we were unable to play.
How to download the Beta yourself (unplayable):
1. Download PS3 Proxy Server and install it on a Windows Machine (.NET v1.1 required)
2. Download the following two files:
* http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home/ww/country-select.xml
* http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home/ww/product-select.xml
3. Edit the two above files so that all occurences of "off" are replaced with "on"
4. Use PS3 Proxy Server to redirect the locations below to the local file on your hard drive:
* http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home/ww/product-select.xml » x:/path-to/product-select.xml
* http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home/ww/country-select.xml » x:/path-to/country-select.xml
5. Configure your PS3 to use your Windows Machine as the proxy server. This can be done by setting the PS3 Proxy Settings to point to your PC IP Address (usually something like 192.168.x.x).
6. Start the server and then restart your console
7. If all goes well, the Home icon should appear under [Network] (between [Account Settings] and [PlayStation Store])
8. Click the icon to download PlayStation Home
The above download method no longer works since Sony have taken the download link offline. As a result, you will be unable to try and download the beta yourself. We can confirm that Home was available to download yesterday but was unplayable (even though the video doesn't show this part).
Basically, you can download and install home and can even connect to the Home server. However, once connected you are prompted to download an update before you can play. If you download and install the update, you receive a DRM related error and cannot start Home.
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today that it will expand the Closed Beta testing for PLAYSTATION®Home in Summer 2008, inviting a further number of registrants from the PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3®) users. Following completion of the Expanded Closed Beta test, the PLAYSTATION Home Open Beta service will commence in Fall 2008.
“We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today,” said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “Our overarching objective is to provide users with new gaming experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home. Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the PlayStation® tradition.”
The PLAYSTATION Home Open Beta service that will become available in Fall 2008 will be built around providing new and fun community gaming experiences, such as connecting PlayStation games with Home and providing places and items from the games.
No to w takim razie o co takie halo...
“Home is currently in a closed beta phase,” he said, speaking at last week’s SCEE PlayStation Day in London. “We have between 8,000 and 10,000 users in this closed beta phase. Around July we’re going to be expanding on the closed beta phase and allowing more people to gradually come in, and then in November this year we’ll be going to the open beta.”
He added: “The extension to the closed beta allows us to have more conversations with our community. We’re very much in close conversations with them. A lot of the changes we’ve done have been the result of feedback. We’ve asked the community a lot of questions, they’ve given us a lot of feedback as to what they think needs improving, and we’re doing that, so it’s managing expectations.”

With Home delayed likely until the end of the year, it's at the very least comforting to know that they're still making improvements and not just making us wait. Following one of the latest updates to Home, SCEE has revealed some screenshots to display the new media room. We've included these shots below and the room seems to be within its own open-ended cavern. We're guessing this is where things like "Virtual E3" will take place in the future.
Sony’s sent out a note to Home beta testers telling them that Ubidays 2008 will be the first publisher event to be broadcast in the new Media & Events space within the service.
In full:
Dear Home testers,
The Home team and Ubisoft would like to invite you to the first ever Publisher Event in Home. Its a pretty exclusive event too as we’re still in closed beta so please try and make time to be a part of a real first.
We’ll be in Home in the new Media & Events space on the evening of Wednesday the 28th of May between 7pm BST and 8pm BST time and Ubisoft will be showcasing their new titles for you all.

Dutch gaming website PS3-Sense posted a video of Playstation Home. The video shows a few new spaces.
See people talking to each other, PSP interaction and everything looking rather bright and colourful.
The Home Beta will be made available to Europe and the US simultaneously, it was revealed last night.
During a press conference in Santa Monica, SCEE President, David Reeves, said the online 3D community service would arrive "with the same specs, same support and at the same time in autumn 2008". He went on to say that an exact date for its release would be announced by SCEI "very shortly".
Home has been delayed by almost a year from its original launch date. The service creates a virtual social environment to interact with other PS3 users, launch online games such as Warhawk, play mini-games such as bowling and pool, share private content and show off your personal space customised with furniture, wallpaper and other items.
Today, I had the chance to get some hands on time with PlayStation Home. The version of Home that I was using had some Developer “Home” spaces up and running.
These spaces were Warhawk, Resistance, and Uncharted.
What I saw in the Warhawk space was a military base, complete with Warhawk “Sand Tables” used to plan out your clan’s strategy before entering the match. From there, you could also launch Warhawk, among some other things.
a co to ma byc na ost. screenie?Minigra. :-o
a imprezy w meskim towarzystwie to ja nawet w realu ledwo trawie

W takim razie trzeba by mieć dobrego neta by dosciągał to i owo, ponadto mam rozumieć ze HOME to będzie taki Dashboard konsoli w graficie 3d tak ? To menu, store, lobby, chat w jednym i w 3D.
Today at 7:50 PM (EST) I dialed the number for SCEA Consumer Support. I was greeted by a woman named Betty. I asked Betty “When is the Home expanded beta going to be released?”. Silence struck my ear for two or three seconds. Then Betty exclaimed, “August 26!”. Could this be true? I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming (don’t worry I wasn’t). I asked Betty the question again and she replied with the same answer. Suddenly, Betty said something suspicious. She said “Oops!”. As I thought in my head what she meant by oops, I started to get nervous. Betty went on to tell me that she wasn’t suppose to tell me that the beta was to come out on August 26th.
After hanging up with Betty I called SCEA several more times. The majority of the representives didn’t even answer my question. In fact they danced around it like it was prom night. At last! Someone actualy gave me a decent answer. A Sony Rep. named Darien said that I can expect the Home expanded beta very soon. He went on to tell me that you can let four other people on your PSN and download the Home Beta Client like you can with games.
Playtations' Home becomes more clear, with the news that the service will host over 18 areas where restricted trailers and possibly casinos will dwell.
If these areas resemble those near my home that have the same services, it might be best to to move.
When asked whether Home will contain any areas where entrance is governed strictly by age (namely 18 and older), Edward replied that there probably won’t be that many cropping up in Home’s short term existence, “but in the long-term, we expect to see them.”
The Home Platform Group director then suggested that while nothing sinister (read: pornographic or illegal) is likely to appear in Sony’s world, it is possible that the odd casino could pop up or perhaps movie theatres where users could go to watch mature-rated videogame trailers.
Acknowledging that many other adult-only themed areas could conceivably come into play, Edward reinforced Sony’s ultimate control by saying that “we have the ability to age-protect areas, and I think that’s something that we will inevitably make use of.”
We’ve just overheard some chaps talking about Home on the train to Leipzig from Berlin. This is what was said:
* £40 million has been spent on Home so far.
* Home’s been in development for five years.
* Home was originally a PlayStation 2 initiative.
Home’s likely to make a decent appearance in Sony’s press conference at Games Convention this week.
Martijn Van Der Meulen, Home producer - have commented at the Leipzig Games Convention about the release date of Home and promised it will come out this year (I wonder if he meant the full service or just the beta…)http://nextgn.com/2008/08/24/home-will-be-available-in-2008-for-sure/
The firmware update will also be released in conjunction with Home version 1.00, according to the post. Currently, the beta is at version 0.98. The simultaneous release of firmware 2.50 and Home 1.00 has us thinking that perhaps this could mark the beginning of the wide release of Home. Stay tuned.
Back on the official SCEE forums, Home community manager TedTheDog writes:
"Today, Friday 21st, over a hundred thousand invitations will be sent across the SCEE region and next Thursday the 27th another larger batch of invitations will be sent.
If you are lucky enough to get an invitation then please note there will be load test event on each of the two evenings.
For everyone else Open Beta will not be far behind."
The release date for home is Dec. 15th or the 30th?they said it is definite. There will be random weather, there will be a money system. you earn money from collecting trophies. and you will get money for the trophies you already have. Right now there is a censor on swearing, but will be taken off in the full beta. The open beta will also be 18+ only.
We appreciate your help in making the PlayStation?Home experience the best it can be! Please log in to Home this evening from 5 PM - 7 PM PST for a big celebration ofWiec nie wiem czy muszę dziś ściągnąć Home bo inaczej kod wygaśnie? Niestety przy konsoli będę dopiero jutro.
Version 1.0 and a load test of our new features.

Home Community Manager TedTheDog has just revealed on the official SCEE forums that stores in the Playstation Home MALL will open tomorrow, straight after a maintenance scheduled for 7am GMT.

:-POpcji tworzenia owszem, natomiast ubrania to kpina.

Jeszcze słowo na piątek ;

Fajny prolog do twojej "tfórdżoźci" 8-)
Enyłej, prawdę mówiąc HOME jest idealny dla ciebie - jako, że nie masz nic do roboty to równie dobrze mógłbyś nołlajfować z ziomkami przy okazji grając w kręgle, bilard tudzież udając się do kina zbejżeć jaki trailerek albo polecieć do shop'a ;
Raz zagadałem do gościa z Australii, coś tam ze dwie minuty gadaliśmy (where are you from i te sprawy). W końcu piszę do niego "Nice haircut!", a on na to "No", "Goodbye" i uciekł.
btw. Ciekawe czy i jego pojedziecie ?!Nie prowokuj.

WoW. Jakis posiadacz PS3 wreszcie to powiedzial !

Widzialem tez sporo materialow z HOME, a moja dziewczyna lubi The Sims, a podobienstwo widac golym okiem, wiec MarcePan mam pewne punkty odniesienia.

No i wszystko jasne.
Sony has confirmed that it will be putting PlayStation Home under the knife for scheduled maintenance today, with the online social platform heading offline for six hours while it upgrades to v1.04.
According to the PlayStation Blog, the primary reason for the downtime is to offer a remedy for users experiencing trouble accessing Home due to high demand for the service.
The post goes on to state that Home?s voice chat functionality will also be disabled temporarily as part of its transition from v1.03 ? v1.04, though will be implemented at a later date. In its absence, Sony suggests make use of the PS3?s swanky new wireless keypad.

Ten koleś przebrany za mikołaja (chyba to był ten sam, ale chu wie) podbił wczoraj do mnie z textem "hohoho what do you want for christmas"

PlayStation Home update 1.05 is scheduled to be released on December 22. With this new update, users will be able to use the voice chat within their personal space and clubhouses to communicate and share with friends online.

Zupełnie jak w Second Life. A to wszystko za darmo.
Sęk w tym, że wirtualne miasto pustoszeje. Powód? Nuda. Żadnych orków do ubicia.
Pal to licho, jeśli mamy klawiaturę.

Onet i gry, no niezłe źródło masz
CytujŻadnych orków do ubicia.
1.10 Patch Notes
New features
* We have added a new ?Remove Player? function that allows the creator to remove people from a Game Launching session. This is complemented by the Block Player function, accessible via the Safe Screen, which can be used to stop people rejoining.
Changes and Improvements
We are constantly tweaking and enhancing various game elements to improve your experience in PlayStation?Home. Updates in 1.10 include:
* The speed of the initial log-on process has been improved and a progress bar has been added to provide you with more information about what is happening.
* Items that you have already purchased will now be loaded when you first log-in, reducing the loading time when you enter stores in the Mall.
* Other players? avatars will now load faster when you enter a space.
* The names of Home reward items will now be shown when you obtain them.
* Download priorities have been changed so that certain graphics and images (like thumbnail images and World Map chips) will download more quickly.
* The inventory system (that stores Home Reward items) has been reworked and made more robust. We have also implemented additional safeguards to help ensure that you cannot inadvertently lose any of your items.
* The Chat log window will now always be displayed on top of any other on-screen graphics, except when zoomed in to a video or poster. When zoomed in, the chat window will no longer display.
* The size of the text box has been improved on message boards in Clubhouses.
* The option to ?Block voice chat? has been changed to ?Block chat,? which will allow you to block both voice chat and text chat at the same time. Players blocked with this feature will not be automatically added to the block list on your Friends list.
* The game camera will now go into attract mode once you have been idle for more than 3 minutes.
* The ?Resign sub leader? command has been removed from the Menu Pad. Club leaders will now have to downgrade sub leaders if they wish.
* We have further improved the UI for a variety of systems including Game Launching, Clubhouses and the Store.
* We have made several memory optimizations to improve client stability.
* We have made graphical improvements to particle systems and water effects.
Bug fixes
* Furniture in Personal Spaces will no longer occasionally vanish when you leave lights or lamps turned on.
* Single-seat chairs and sofas can no longer be occupied by more than one person at a time.
* You can now turn lighting objects on/off in your Personal Space.
* Furniture layout issues in Clubhouses have been resolved.
* The ?Refresh Club Menus? option in the Menu Pad should now work as intended.
* Dates will now be displayed on Clubhouse bulletin board messages.
* A fix has been applied to the Home Safe Screen reporting process.
* Your screen will no longer freeze if you leave a game session with the game disc ejected.
* Item names and prices will now display correctly in the Mall.
* Wallpapers will now be displayed properly when you invite friends to your Harbour Studio.
* You will no longer be able to make a phone call to players who have deactivated voice chat.
* You should now be able to use two-seater sofas properly.
European Home Manager TedTheDog has been on the EU PlayStation forums today giving information about Home and answering some people?s questions.
So what did he have to say for himself?
First of all he announced that the PlayStation short movie series, Shoot, will be coming to the Home theatre after the weekly maintenance from Thursday morning:
PlayStation? Shoot comes to Home this week with the addition of all six short films to the theatre. The videos are reasonably high quality and therefore the files are quite large and each will present a long download, but we thought you might find it interesting none the less.
Furthermore, he answered a question about video streaming:
Streaming video is something we obviously want to get in place and I?ll ask how its progressing. We?d also like to investigate, in conjunction with streaming, synchronised viewing, where multiple viewers can see the same bit of video at the same time. Thats quite a useful tool for launches and the like.
Anyway, streaming is required and will arrive in the future.
Another much needed feature that Home lacks is the ability to preview clothes items before you purchase them. Good news is that TedTheDog acknowledges this:
We quite agree, a preview option for clothes is required and its on the list to be done. No eta for it yet, but we know its important.
Finally there has been news spreading around the net about 24 companies that are reported to be permitted to put content onto the online service. Ted had this to say about it:
Looking at that list I think its worth pointing out that its SCEJ?s list, not SCEE?s, although ours is on a similar scale including some overlaps, its just not been published yet.
In addition, the Events Space for the EU region will go offline on Thursday. We hope this answers some of your queries or fulfils some of your suggestions for Home. Your best bet to get your voice heard is to use the official PlayStation forums for your region.
A couple days ago I visited with Incognito studio director Dylan Jobe (you know him well) about the Warhawk space that launches today in PlayStation Home. Dylan was nice enough to walk us through the Warhawk Command Center, and specifically through the Sand Table where you can lay out strategies for all Warhawk maps. It?s all really slick, and Dylan goes into some great detail about how it all works.
Also, starting today you can purchase Warhawk for $19.99 on the PlayStation Store (that?s $10 off!) for two weeks, ending on March 11. Individual Warhawk Booster packs are dropping down to $4.99, and the Booster Combo (all three individual Booster packs) drops to $9.99. But remember, the special Warhawk pricing ends on March 11, so be quick about it!

Sony Computer Entertainment shared details today on the next set of major updates for the PlayStation Home virtual world service. The service will see an update today, to be followed by another one next week.
Today's update adds a lounge for Irem's PS3 download title Minna de Spelunker. Visitors to this lounge will be able to access a special statue in order to kick off a multiplayer play session.
The next update, set for the 26th, appears to be far more substantial. The main piece of content for this day is an updated Resident Evil 5 Photo Studio. Users will have access to a mini game which will be playable simultaneously by multiple players, with Home Rewards being on the line.
New items are on the way on the 26th as well. Inside the RE5 Photo Studio, users will find a special shop called Adam's Shop. This shop will sell costumes from RE5's main characters Chris and Sheva. This will be the first time Home has offered in-lounge shops.

In a discussion at the GDC today, Jack Buser, director of PlayStation Home Stateside, revealed that the social network application will launch three promotional spaces per month from here on.
Buser states:
"You'll see about three new spaces launched a month...I'll be shocked if we ever go under that number, we have so much in the pipeline."
He added that recently a "good space" had a quarter of a million visits a week in the US, with 3 out of 4 visitors spending more than 10 minutes in the space.
A Sony insider has dropped a major hint that E3 and Home will be together again. That?s all the info they gave us.
Open voice chat is when your mic is active everything you say is heard by everyone within a certain area about your avatar. This option is only available in personal spaces.
One-on-one is exactly that. Only the selected user can hear you and no one else. This method is available anywhere in Home and is used through the "Phone Call" option in your PDA under your friend's list. The two users involved do not have to be in the same area, as long as both are logged into Home.
W jakiej grze ?
This update will bring several of the changes that you, the PlayStation Home community, have said are most important to you. Most notably, this update features faster load times, giving you quicker access to PlayStation Home and all the great content within. The new 1.35 update also enhances the login process. Now, once you have launched into PlayStation Home from the XMB, you will be transported directly to a new intuitive navigator, without the need to click through message screens.http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/03/10/playstation-home-1-35-launching-tomorrow/
Like much of PlayStation Home, the design of this new navigator is directly based on community feedback on how to improve access to the content used most in PlayStation Home. This streamlined interface features categories to help you quickly move through PlayStation Home and locate friends in just a few clicks.
Categories will include:
* Favorites: Personalize your own section to make locating your favorite places quick and simple.
* Personal Spaces: Your clubhouses and personal spaces are now right at your fingertips. The personal spaces you own and the clubhouses you belong to will be viewable in one convenient location.
* Friends: Finding your friends in PlayStation Home has never been easier. View the current location of your friends in PlayStation Home, and then navigate there to enjoy the action together.
* Explore: Browse all the spaces PlayStation Home offers. Finding a space that suites your taste and mood has never been easier.
* Recommend: Keep up with what’s hot in PlayStation Home. This regularly updated category will feature the newest and most exciting additions to PlayStation Home.
