A new Mario Tennis game is bringing a new level of skill and competition to Nintendo Switch. Mario steps onto the court in classy tennis garb for intense rallies against a variety of characters in full-blown tennis battles. New wrinkles in tennis gameplay will challenge your ability to read an opponent’s position and stroke to determine which shot will give you the advantage. And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on Game Boy Advance, offering a new flavor of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions and boss battles. The game launches for Nintendo Switch this spring.

Mario Tennis Aces launches June 22, new details
Here are some new details:
– More than 15 playable characteristics
– Each have their own characteristics
– 4 players can step onto the court together
– Basic shot, topspin, slice, lob over your opponent’s head
– New zone shot: pinpoint any spot you want to aim at using motion controls
– These shots are very powerful, so your racket can take some damage
– If it takes 3 hits, it’ll break, so it can be an instant KO
– Can stop a zone shot with a block (perfect timing)
– Zone speed: when using this, the world around you moves in slow motion to perform incredible feats like chasing down quick shot
– Energy gauge slowly fills up the longer you keep a rally going
– Fastest way to fill it is with the new trick shot
– Special shot can even destroy your opponent’s racket, but not a guaranteed win
– Online play, online tournaments
– Can get special outfits and characters for participating in tournaments
– Swing mode using your Joy-Con
– Pre-launch online tournament planned

Mario Tennis Aces Online Tournament Demo Coming 1st June With Reward For Taking Part
Running from 1st June at 3pm UK time, to 4th June at 11:59pm UK time, the demo will allow players to compete against others for free, testing out their skills and (importantly) allowing them to see what the game is like to play. You'll be able to choose from Mario, Bowser, Peach, and Yoshi, and can challenge the "online tournament" as many times as you like. As you advance through the tournament stages you'll earn points based on your performance, allowing you to unlock another five additional characters to play with.
Excitingly, by playing just a single match in the demo (and keeping that save data on your Switch), you'll be able to get your hands on the 'Overalls Mario' costume for use in the full game.

News dotyczy na razie chyba tylko Japonii, ale pewniakiem Europa też dostanie taką możliwość. Ja z chęcią zagram i sprawdzę :)

Nawet jak Europa nie dostanie, to nic nie stoi na przeszkodzie, żeby pobrać demo z japońskiego eShopu.

Na meta jak przeczytałem negatywne "user reviews" to nawet jeśli niektórzy przesadzają, brzmi to dość strasznie. Ponoć wyważenie jest tak ch**owe, że w multi wszyscy wybierają Bowsera Jr albo Waluigiego... Adventure mode do wymasterowania w 3h...
To już druga duża gra po Kirbym, która cierpi na brak zawartości. Nie wiem czy dodawanie postaci (analogicznie jak w Kirbym) przedłuży znacznie żywot gry.

Dlatego nie planuję zakupu w najbliższym czasie. Wolę poczekać, aż dodadzą nieco zawartości i poprawią balans gry.

Mario Tennis Aces Update Hits The Court On September 19th
First, four new characters were revealed to be joining the roster as part of the Version 2 Update. These four characters include:
Birdo (All Around)
Shy Guy (Technical)
Koopa Paratroopa (Technical)
Petey Piranha (Powerful)
These four characters can be unlocked through online play, with more characters confirmed to be coming between now and June 2019.
A new Co-Op Challenge mode was also detailed during today's presentation. The Co-Op Challenge will feature limited time online missions, rewarding new outfits and colour variations for certain characters. One of the examples shown of this during the Direct was a blue variant for Shy-Guy, along with new outfits for Chain Chomp and Boo.
