E3 2014: Nintendo Rolls Out New Kirby Game Trailer For Wii U

As a surprise announcement slipped in between the vast Hyrule Warriors and the mighty Xenoblade Chronicles X during today's Digital Event, Nintendo showed us a glimpse at Kirby's next outing set to take place on Wii U. Stylus at the ready!

Following Yoshi's Woolly trend of creative new art styles, the adventure seems to be set in a world made out of clay with a crisp, stop-motion feel to the action. Its gameplay will look familiar to anyone who played Canvas Curse on DS, as the GamePad touchscreen is similarly used to draw a path for Kirby to follow through the level.

Kirby gets around by rolling and dashing along the paths drawn out by the player, allowing for momentum to build through clever placement of ramps and by utilizing the environment. As well as that, transformations seem to be making their return as well, with submarine, rocket, and tank forms are all featured in the trailer.

Gra będzie też wykorzystywać Amiibo (na razie nie wiadomo, w jaki sposób). Co dziwne, w USA gra została zapowiedziana już na luty, natomiast w Europie dopiero na drugą połowę 2015. Czyżby nastąpiła jakaś pomyłka?

Nintendo took the opportunity, on Christmas Day, to spruce up its official website for the game and release an extensive new trailer for the Japanese market. It's highlighted that there'll be 28 main story levels, along with plenty of collectibles and chests in the form of trophies and audio tracks.

The footage in the trailer is particularly interesting to watch, as we see more features and environments than ever before. Four player multiplayer looks invaluable, as extra players indulge in traditional platforming as Kirby rolls around. There's footage of amiibo right at the end too, in addition to clips on the official website, which show that the current and upcoming Kirby, King Dedede and Meta Knight figures give the pink ball a fresh look and expanded abilities.

This is set to hit North America on 13th February and 22nd January in Japan; the launch price in Nintendo's homeland is 3700 Yen - around $30 - which pegs this (unsurprisingly) as a budget retail release.

Europa jednak chyba jeszcze przez długi czas będzie musiała poczekać z premierą (chociaż zupełnie nie mam pojęcia, jaki jest tego powód).
