Staff -> Producer is Keisuke Kikuchi, Directors are Makoto Shibata and Suda GoichiDetails :-The game is taking place on a mysterious island which has been related to a kidnapping case in the past. On this same island, stands a gloomy mansion whose walls are decorated of mysterious masks which are part of a puzzle.-The main character is Ruka Minazuki, which is one of the five girls that have been rescued in this kidnapping case, and one of the three girl that decided to go back to the island (the two other girls being deceased) .- The magazine talks about how Nintendo is supporting this project, and some mostly known stuff.- As you can see, the point of view is different this time around, as it's in 3rd person, behind-the-back view. Will probably use the Wiimote functionalities rather extensively.
Zadam lamerskie pytanie. Kiedy premiera w EU?
Seems like Fatal Frame 4 has been confirmed for a February release in Europe. A scan from the official Nintendo magazine is making the rounds, but I wasn't sure whether it was okay to post, even though it's just part of a page.
Fatal Frame IV, the Wii-exclusive sequel to the popular horror series, has been the subject of much speculation since its surprise release in Japan last Summer. Developed by Goichi Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Nintendo in Japan, the game has yet to be given an American release date. However, that may change soon. The first bit of proof is that the game will be released in Europe in February as Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Then, Ken Berry, head of Marketing and Business Development at XSEED, said that Fatal Frame IV is coming to America in 2009, but it won't be published by XSEED.Now, Gaming Target has recently heard from a video game industry analyst (who wishes to remain nameless) that Fatal Frame IV is coming to America in 2009, but it may not be released as "Fatal Frame IV." Why any publisher would throw away the cult of popularity the series has gained over the years is questionable, but the desire to start fresh, and make Fatal Frame more than a cult series, could be the impetus behind that decision.
Reader Nemolost tells us that the text in the ad roughly translates to ?the next month they scare Wii?. Will Fatal Frame IV finally hit outside of Japan?
April 7, 2009 - Last year, Nintendo published the frightening Wii-exclusive action title, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, in Japan. Since then, fans have waited for the company's U.S. subsidiary to announce a stateside release of the game, which was developed by Tecmo and Grasshopper Manufacture. And waited. And waited some more.In early April, MTV had the chance to speak with NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime about the subject and the executive shot down hopes for a local debut of Fatal Frame, saying: "We are not the publisher of that title in the Americas."Buh? Nintendo published the title in Japan so it was thought that the company would do the same for the game in America. Apparently not. Which publishers does that leave open to do it? The only other possibility is Tecmo, which had up until Mask of the Lunar Eclipse published all Fatal Frame games. So we contacted the third-party in hopes that it might shed some light on the subject and simultaneously offer stateside Wii owners a hopeful solution to the calamity. No such luck.A Tecmo spokesperson gave IGN the following statement:"Nintendo holds the publishing rights to 'Fatal Frame Wii,' which was developed by Tecmo LTD. and Grasshopper Manufacture and released in Japan on July 31, 2008. Nintendo of America has since then decided not to publish the title in North America ? consequently, the title will not be released in this territory. As the owner of the IP, Tecmo feels very unfortunate that the fans of the series in North America will not have a chance to play the game, but respects the final decision made by Nintendo of America."Petition time?
Unfortunately I don?t have a comment for you at this point, but if one comes down the pipeline, I?ll be sure to send it your way. - Nintendo spokesperson
What you up to this weekend? Chris is going for dinner with Suda 51 tonight. Going to grill him about Fatal Frame 4?s European release.
Bad news for Europe gamers.. Nintendo has made an official statement about Fatal Frame IV (known as Project Zero IV here) in its last official magazine: "One time envisaged for a May release, the localization of the game has been cancelled and the game will stay as an Japanese exclusive game".
After Nintendo/Tecmo's bizzare move not to bring Fatal Frame Wii to Europe or North America, fans have started an un-official localisation. A group of translators have already worked their way through almost half the game's script, and are currently seeking others to hop onboard. According to QJ, the project requires Homebrew and an imported copy of the game. Are you interested in the Fatal Frame translation project? Do you think Nintendo should re-consider bringing the game to the West?
