Unfortunately, quick follow-up questions by the press confirmed our worst fears. By including the footage on the PSP reel, Sony was not revealing a PSP version of what really does look like a great game. It was, in fact, pointing out that it is unaware on a corporate level (seriously, how many Sony people saw that reel before the public? Fifty?) as to what games are coming out on its various platforms.

Oto w grze chodzi - robienie zdjęć Wink
Although it's still keeping the name Afrika for its Japanese release next month, Sony's photo safari game will be renamed for the rest of Asia, and quite possibly North America, if the game is ever to see a U.S. release. The new name? Hakuna Matata (translates to "no worries").Why the name change? Sony has yet to make an official announcement. Perhaps they've changed the name for marketing reasons, aiming to capitalize on a title that has been made popular by a famous catch phrase from Disney's The Lion King. However, until further notice from Sony, we can only speculate.

Remember few days ago when Sony Cameras revealed at the Photokina photography fair in Cologne (Germany) through an english trailer that AFRIKA should be hitting Europe in 2009? SCE has debunked it early this week, but sure it seems that they are trying to cover it : French site LesNumeriques has captured a gameplay video during the event from the english version of AFRIKA.Is SCE trying to cover it to surprise everyone at TGS 2008?
Remember Afrika? It's a nature-themed PS3-exclusive photography game that met moderate success when it debuted in Japan earlier this year. An English release seemed unlikely due to the niche content of the game, but it appears the game will be making its way to American shores -- and from an unlikely source, as well.National Geographic has picked up the rights for Afrika, rebranding it as National Geographic: Africa. It's promised to release next month -- but with potentially very little fanfare.
