Like the Cooking Mama games preceding it, Gardening Mama will test wannabe green thumbs with a series of gardening-themed mini-games. And like the past games, that means using the touch screen and stylus to do anything from digging up dirt and planting seeds to watering and tending to 37 different kinds of flowers, fruits, and vegetables. There will also be a multipayer mode where gamers compete to grow the biggest harvests.
Aliens: Colonial Marines, Gearbox's Aliens shooter, is still very much on, but won't be arriving this year. When it does hit, there will be a DS version as well though, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford tells Kotaku.Colonial Marines was first announced in 2006, then slated for a 2008 ship date. Later that was pushed back by retailer listings to mid-2009. But Pitchford said the game won't be coming this year.He did say that along with working on Borderlands and Aliens: Colonial Marines, Gearbox is also working on two other yet-to-be-announced titles. And the rumored DS version of Aliens: Colonial Marines? It's real but not being worked on by Gearbox, Pitchford says. It sounds like WayForward Technologies are indeed working on what they have called their spiritual follow-up to Contra 4.
Wii.New Super Mario Bros. To oznacza mniejszą sprzedaż danej gry.Jak donosi w najnowszym numerze japoński magazyn Nikkei, Ninny jest na tyle przekonane o słuszności Demo Play, że ma zamiar wprowadzić je także do swoich produkcji na DS-a.
Goichi Suda recently spoke about his latest DS release, Flower, Sun and Rain, stating its main character will return, but the prequel may not. Speaking in an interview with Cubed3 that will be posted here in the coming days, Suda-san was asked about whether or not he would like to return to making adventure games such as FSR (which launched in the US last month). His response was mixed, showing interest in doing do, but just not yet. However, he did reveal that Sumio Mondo would indeed be likely to make a future appearance. If there is a chance, of course, I would like to make adventure games, but I have no plan right now. However, I am interested in making a new Mondo-related story for new hardware. As for whether or not The Silver Case will finally be released on the Nintendo DS, or if some of his older games like Moonlight Syndrome will eventually make a re-appearance, this is what he had to say on the matter: The DS version of "Silver Case" is still up in the air. Actually the game has already been completely ported to the DS, but I have decided that the game itself is very old. Therefore, it is certainly necessary to remake it properly to fit in with the current generation of gamers. So, for now the game has not been released. As for the "Moonlight Syndrome" IP, unfortunately it doesn't belong to Grasshopper, meaning we cannot do anything for that right now.
The latest scores from this week's Famitsu magazine are in, with AQ Interactive's Ju-On game for Wii not doing too well. What's being dubbed as "haunted house simulator", Ju-on: The Grudge (Wii) wasn't received so well by the magazine, receiving 22/40 from four reviewers. Sega's puzzler for DS, Puyo 7, did a fair bit better earning 32/40. A new video of Bandai Namco's version of Blue Dragon for the DS has been revealed on the official website. So far there has been a traditional turn-based RPG on the Xbox 360 from Mistwalker and the Brownie Brown-developed Real-Time Strategy role-player of Blue Dragon Plus on the Nintendo DS. Now Hideo Baba of Tales fame is helping push Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyojuu, again for the DS, but this time in an Action RPG format that actually bears more than a passing resemblence to some of the Tales series. The game is set to hit Japan in October and considering both previous Blue Dragon titles have eventually hit Western shores, it would be surprising if this impressive-looking game did not make it in the long-run.
As the time passed by, Nintendo started to work on the successor of its handheld console with a debut planned for late 2010 [Tokyo Game Show?]. According to our confidential sources, Nintendo is going to use Tegra System-on-Chip processor for the successor of DS/DSi handheld console. Unlike the current design, nVidia offered a single-chip proposal to Nintendo, a company famous for keeping the hardware platform absolutely simple.Given the fact that Nintendo DS hardware is based upon 16-bit and 32-bit ARM cores, it looks like Next-Gen DS could be backwards compatible with the DS application library. According to our sources, all of the apps that came for old DS could run on a single ARM11 core, yet alone the next-gen CorTex-A9-based Tegra, leaving graphics subsystem to do "something smarter".
RPad.tv claims to have some details about the successor to the DS. Supposedly, the details come from developers at GDC. Keep in mind, however, that you should treat the information below as rumor for now.- 2 screens- Screens are bigger and are of higher resolution- Gap between the two screens is very small- Developers will be able to use both screens as one big screen (seen in some DS games)- System will have an accelerometer- Dev kit is similar in power to the GameCube, devs with GCN/Wii experience will be able to create games somewhat easily- Developers indicating that there isn’t much of a learning curve with the kit- Some developers will have their games complete before the end of 2010- System might be announced at E3, might release this year
