Wczoraj Sega ogłosiła, że pracuje nad zupełnie nową grą o przygodach Sonica. Produkcja została roboczo nazwana Project Needlemouse (Projekt Iglasta mysz) i zadebiutuje w przyszłym roku, chociaż nie wiadomo jeszcze na jakie platformy zawita. Skromny i krótki film reklamowy jest jedynym źródłem informacji, których zawiera niestety bardzo mało. Dowiedzieć się z niego możemy, że ?prędkość powróci w nowej, stworzonej zupełnie od podstaw przygotówce 2D?, na samym końcu widnieje tylko rok 2010.Filmowi towarzyszy obecność znanych z wcześniejszych części złotych pierścieni oraz dźwięki pochodzące z pierwszej gry o przygodach jeża Sonic the Hedgehog. Przygody niebieskiego jeża podbijały konsole firmy Sega od debiutu w 1991 roku, a sam Sonic stał się od tamtej pory swoistą maskotką firmy. Potem bohater pojawiał się też w wielu odsłonach platformówek, produkowanych również na inne konsole. Jedną z ostatnich wydaną na platformy nowej generacji był Sonic Unleashed, a od dzisiaj posiadacze Xboksa 360 będą mogli zagrać w odświeżoną, czwartą część serii, Sonic & Knuckles.W wywiadzie z GameSpot manager marki Sega, Ken Balough zapowiedział, że Project Needlemouse otrzyma grafikę w jakości HD oraz wyjaśnił, że pomysł jest dedykowany fanom Sonic, którzy długo pytali o powrót bohatera w znanej ze starszych części oprawie 2D.
In addition to its midnight unveiling on GameSpot, Sega has launched the official website for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 at SonicTheHedgehog4.com.While much of the website is currently under lock and key, it does offer some new information that wasn't part of the GameSpot reveal. First and foremost, the game will be coming to a super secret fourth platform. An image in the top right of the site touts the release date (Summer 2010) and the platforms (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and ???). Obviously, Sega hasn't offered any hints as to what that fourth platform could be. Is Sega working on a portable version for the DS, PSP or iPad? Or maybe a PC version? Who knows, maybe the game will be a launch title for the recently announced Genesis refresh, the Sega Zone.
Just a few weeks ago Sega surprised plenty of people when they announced Sonic 4, the first numbered title in the series since 1994's Sonic 3, would be coming to PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 in episodic form starting this summer. That announcement left plenty of questions in the minds of Sonic's many rabid fans. How much will it cost? How many levels will be included? What does he look like when he runs?Some of those questions can now be answered thanks to an anonymous kind-hearted tipster who leaked several screenshots and an off-screen video of an alpha build to 1UP. The screens and video reveal that at least four zones will make it into episode 1. Those are Splash Hill Zone, Lost Labyrinth Zone, Casino Street Zone, Mad Gear Zone and a Special Stage. We'll definitely have to wait a little longer before we got our grubby hands on it for ourselves, but until then this should whet our appetite.
Another Sonic the Hedgehog 4 leak has surfaced on the web, with a video posted on YouTube claiming to be actual footage from one of the levels in Sega’s upcoming title. The video features a level inside the Mad Gear Zone and shows classic Sonic gaming, including a power up to Super Sonic at around 3:10. Sega has yet to pull the video from the site, so enjoy it while you can!Edit:Just as we predicted, Sega has had the video pulled from YouTube.
