A senior PS3 development source told VG247 today that “Live-like” PlayStation 3 functionality is not only on the way in the foreseeable future, but is already being built into games.
“There is Live-like stuf coming to PS3, yes,” we were told. “It’s going into titles in the works now.”
The comments came after PS3F posted up some shots of what appear to be PSN gamer profiles, which came from the same source as the recently-released, supposed pictures of Trophy displays for PSN.

During the Sony Strategic Meeting in Tokyo today, Sony announced a service that will allow PS3 owners to view daily world news interactively.
The system, billed under their Life with PlayStation brand, allows you to zoom around a virtual globe (not unlike the one in the Folding@Home application) and gain world news from various cities. The service will allow later on for geo-tagged pictures to be viewed on the globe, and is part of a whole slew of non-game services Sony are planning for the future.
The idea is a simple one. Since many people switch on their TVs in the morning to get news of what is going on, Sony want you to switch on your PS3 as well and use that to deliver the information you require, whilst playing music in the background and linking into other services to be announced in the future.

Sony said Thursday it is confident of a sales recovery in the video game market due to the PSP expected to maintain its growth, with the PlayStation 3 also projected to show further improvement.
According to Sony chief financial officer Nobuyuki Oneda, the company aims to “post some profit at the game business in the full year to March 2009.”
“The PlayStation Portable (PSP) is likely to maintain its growth momentum, while the PS3 is also expected to show further improvement thanks to the cost cuts and rises in the titles line-up,” Oneda said.
Sony said it is now relying more on “non-game content and services,” as demonstrated by Kazuo Hirai’s announcement of a PS3 movie download service coming this summer in the U.S.
“Please expect more from our evolving PlayStation business,” he said.

Ascaron Entertainment today announced that Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, developed for PC and Xbox 360, is also coming for PS3, this fall. The PS3 version features enhanced graphics, 5.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound and support drop-in cooperative play, as well as other multiplayer gaming modes via the Internet. The game also features two-player shared-screen gaming on one console - players simply pick up a controller, press "Start" and join their friends. Players can save their characters and use them in all game modes, allowing the same character to be used both in single-player or multiplayer modes, accumulating experience and loot seamlessly.

You can clearly see the ‘Search’ button at the top which we have seen in the past on a PSN promotional video. The video store will hit North America this summer with the store reaching Europe and Japan at a later date.

Co do Sacred 2.
Powiedział bym że to niemożliwe - ale nie ze względu na tabelki - tylko na to, że premiera wersji na X360 odbędzie się w tym samym czasie co wersji na PS3 - w listopadzie. Więc jak dziś oceniać?

A new scan from a Japanese gaming magazine is saying that the PLAYSTATION 3 will soon get it's own Tales Of game that will "take advantage of the system's power". The scan shows Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk for the Wii, Tales of Vesperia for the Xbox 360, and a mystery title for the PLAYSTATION 3, as if every console gets their own Tales of series game.
There is a huge title teasing that the PLAYSTATION 3 Tales Of series game will be announced on "X Day of July". Expect a PLAYSTATION 3 Tales of along with more information on Eternal Sonata that "X Day".

PS3 Graphics Chip Goes 65nm in Fall

Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai has confirmed that PS3 Cell processors manufactured since last holiday use the more efficient 65nm technology, while smaller RSX chips are due in the fall.
"The Cell and RSX used in PS3s at launch were manufactured using a 90nm process technology. And now all PS3 Cells have shifted to 65nm process technology since last holiday season," he said.
The smaller chip technology runs more efficiently and costs less to produce.
