The U.K.'s Official PlayStation site has set the internet ablaze with a rumor of the latest downloadable title for the PSP. The rumored game is the cleverly original title, flOw, that debuted on the PS3 not too long ago.The game's product page on the UK site shows the game as being released on the handheld system. The details have it as being released as a downloadable title in January of 2008, with the site claiming that users will be able to, "Download flOw from PLAYSTATION Store (PC) and discover the unique wonder of an uncharted aquatic world.". Other details included are that the game will feature ad-hoc multiplayer of 2-4 players but no infrastructure multiplayer.To avoid thinking it is a typo, or page error, the game has already been listed on the ESRB's official website as well. When asked about the release of Flow on the PSP, Sony responded, "SCEA has no official announcements at this time," said Scott Goryl, a public relations specialist with Sony.
Some last minute Valentine's Day plans are in the works for PSP owners tomorrow and it all comes courtesy of "Patapon". The quirky PSP title will have a demo available on both the PC to PSP PlayStation Store and the PS3 Store as of tomorrow.Many PSP owners rushed over to the Japanese PSP Store last week and downloaded the demo from the Japanese store only to be sorely disappointed. Today at GDC, Chris Eden from Sony Computer Entertainment made mention of the PLAYSTATION Store on PSP in his Game Developer's Conference session. Currently the only way PSP owners can access downloadable content for their handhelds is via the PS3's PlayStation store or the PC's Store. Eden's announcement now gives hope that PSP owners will be able to have downloadable content available at their fingertips without having to plug their PSP into anything, but rather just by logging onto the internet.The PlayStation Store for the PSP is said to allows users to "access native PLAYSTATION Store on PSP via wireless hotspot," and "Purchase and download content direct to PSP (no USB cable)." There is no release date announced or speculated but we sure hope that Sony releases this feature sooner than later.
Tom Clancy's EndWar creative director Michael de Plater is reported to have confirmed that the RTS will be released on DS and PSP, as well as 360 and PS3.According to several reports, de Plater confirmed the game will making its way to handheld platforms at GDC. Sony has confirmed that its upcoming PSP Go!Messenger wireless communication service will be released on the PSP Store on Friday, February 29.The service allows any Go!Messenger user to send video, voice and instant messages via a wireless Internet connection, including the 2,500+ Openzone hotspots provided by British Telecom (BT)In order to utilize the service, you’ll need to own a PSP Go!Cam, an attachable video camera and microphone, along with access to a wireless connection. Consumers will not have to pay any additional charges aside from existing broadband fees.
Sony continues to push the PSP full steam ahead by providing new ways for gamers to find interest in the system. The latest avenue of attracting consumers is the release of a Mint Green PSP in Japan.Although the system will be identical to all the others currently on the market, it gives the consumer yet another option when deciding whether or not to purchase Sony's handheld. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) announced today that Skype would be available for consumers to use on their PlayStation Portable from March 18, 2008.The communications service will be included in next system update due later this month, with Sony also revealing that it will be releasing official microphones to coincide with the software’s release.

Ted Price, the President of Insomniac Games, has said that the company’s Resistance: Fall of Man series could potentially work on a handheld console, pointing to the success of Killzone: Liberation on the PlayStation Portable.When asked whether or not the series would work on a handheld machine, Price told MTV’s Multiplayer blog, “Sure. I think that’s possible.”Price then elaborated on the possibilities of a portable version of Resistance, stating that it doesn’t necessarily have to work as a traditional First Person Shooter (FPS) game.“I think “Killzone” demonstrated that it doesn’t have to be a first-person shooter.
