At Tokyo Game Show I spent a good amount of time with the Wii version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. I started out playing with Ryu since I imagined he handle similarly to the Street Fighter games. For the most part Ryu has the same moves. Good old reliable Ryu, but not Street Fighter IV Ryu. You can’t Hurricane Kick your way through people.

 The command for the Hurricane Kick is slightly different too. You roll backwards a quarter of a circle and hit any of the three attack buttons. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes doesn’t have different buttons for punches and kicks. There are just three attack buttons: weak, medium, and strong plus a button to call out a partner. Essentially you can throw fireballs, knock an enemy in the air with a Dragon Punch, and Hurricane Kick with the same button. Hit the B button and you call out your partner character to jump in and use a move like Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Switching characters is done by holding back and pressing B. The button layout fits the Classic Controller well, but how does Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes work with just a Wii Remote?

 Surprisingly, the control scheme isn’t as game breaking as Capcom vs. SNK 2: EO. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom maps basic attacks to one button and special attacks to another. If you’re playing with Ryu and you mash the basic attack button you automatically do a canned combo. You can alter your moves by holding a direction plus pressing the attack button, but since you only have one attack button you’re missing moves. The advantage players with a lonely Wii remote have is they can do one button special attacks. As Ryu the special attack button makes him throw a fireball. Holding a different direction on the D-pad makes him do other moves like the Hurricane Kick and Dragon Punch. The B button underneath the D-pad is used to call out a partner. Fighting game enthusiasts probably won’t use just the Wii remote, but Capcom did a decent job making the Wii Remote only set up something anyone can play.
nce I finished experimenting with the controllers I moved on to other characters.

 Karas - My favorite new character to play as. He carries a sword and has a useful hookshoot projectile too.

Gold Lightan - Unlike the other characters Gold Lightan doesn’t get a partner character. He also takes up like the entire screen. Gold Lightan towers over other characters so you have to kneel down and ground punch them. The feeling of seeing Gold Lightan versus two smaller characters is pretty cool.

 Doronjo - Very confusing to use at first since She doesn’t do special attacks. Two other Yatterman villains pop up out of holes and attack for her. I guess this is close to Captain Commando’s call outs, but much slower.

Yatterman - Uses his yo-yo like Kendama and has a super move where dogs run on the screen like the Servbot rush.

 Rock Volnutt - He felt like Mega Man from the Marvel vs. Capcom games minus the the super hyper mega armor supers. If you hold down the strong button Mega Man charges up his Mega Buster for a more powerful shot. You can partially charge while air dashing for quick blasts.

 PTX-40A - Like Gold Lightan the Lost Planet vital suit takes up both character slots and it towers over single characters. The VS attacks with equipped weapons like a chainsaw to chop and a gattling gun. One super move makes PTX-40A unload all of its armor and at the end new weapons are attached to the vital suit.

mateo - graficznie Corruption jest dużo ładniejszy od poprzedników (w szczególności oświetlenie! tekstury i efekty) chociaż zachowano stylistykę podobną - ale to na pewno wiesz :)
Klimat najbardziej odpowiadał mi z pierwszego PRIME (przemierzanie świata w całkowitej samotności a każda żywa istota to wróg) więc inni łowcy pojawiający się w Corruption nie przypadli mi do gustu.
Gameplay natomiast pozamiatał mną po całości. NIGDY NIE GRAŁEM W LEPSZE FPP! Pierwsze kroki stawiałem na poziomie "veteran" bez żadnych uproszczeń w sterowaniu i nie zawiodłem się. System niby ten sam co w poprzednich odsłonach ale tak zmodyfikowany, że pasuje do wiilota idealnie.
Wspaniała gra - tak ją oceniam :)

ps. jaką notę mam sprostować?

skoro tak mówisz, to dałbym na twoim miejscu mocną dziewiątkę. ;)
więcej raczej nie, gdyż brak w tej serii wyraźnego przeskoku wizualnego oraz technicznego.Oj co by się działo gdyby zrobić mega next-genowego Metroida.

Mateo , Super Metroid jest dostępny w serwisie Virtual Console .Na Dual Screena projekt " wstrzymano "  , nie jestem pewien czy ten obrazek pochodzi z DS , ale wygląda fachowo .

Odnośnie przygód Samus na N64 , gra była robiona pod tę konsole , ale sprzęt był za slaby i transportowano projekt na Gcn .

Możliwe, że fake, ale ja tu widzę dosłownie czystą reinkarnację Super Metroida.Jeżeli to coś! powstaje na DS'a, to ja już nie mam wyboru odnośnie zakupu tej konsolki. (I tak  już ją kupuje, dla Dragon Quest IX) :]

Metroid Dread was first announced in the June 2005 issue of Game Informer, and further details emerged on the magazine's online forums. According to the forum moderators, the game was a 2D side-scroller being developed for the Nintendo DS, with its plot following the events of Metroid Fusion.[1]

On September 19, 2005, IGN reported that Metroid Dread is being developed, but will not be formally announced for some time.[2] Nintendo had neither confirmed nor denied its existence.[2]

On February 17, 2006, the British Official Nintendo Magazine included Metroid Dread in their "Official Release Dates", listed under November 2006 as 'to be confirmed'. However, on March 16, 2006, in the second issue of the magazine, the game was marked with a vague 2006 release date, although ONM highlighted the ambiguity surrounding the game, and suggested to wait until E3 2006 for concrete information.

On October 7, 2005, the Nintendo-Next website reported that the game was cancelled though did not give its sources. However, on March 23, 2006, the website N-Sider reported that IGN editor Craig Harris was asked about Metroid Dread, and his response was that it was too early to show at E3 in 2005, but that it could be shown later that year. This shows a possibility that Metroid Dread has not been cancelled, and the cancellation could have been reported falsely by Nintendo-Next. [3]

The game failed to make an appearance at E3 2006 and no information was released on the status of the game for the rest of the year and into 2007.

Też chciałbym żeby na DSa wyszedł jakiś Metroid w 2D, bo jeśli chodzi o Huntersów, to zupełnie nie mogłem się w tej grze odnaleźć (i to dosłownie), fajny klimat i muza, ale wszystkie pomieszczenia bliźniaczo do siebie podobne, a mapa zupełnie nieczytelna :sad:

We had a lot of fun with the multiplayer games, but there are a few interface issues that aren't quite as friendly as they might be. First of all, while the game provides a variety of control options (remote/remote and nunchuk/remote and balance board), it will only recognize one controller at a time. So even though four players can get in on a game, they all have to share one remote. We suppose it would be nice to have the option to use just one controller, but the game would move along more smoothly if you didn't have to pass it around.

Playing with the balance board presents another issue. It has to calibrate for each player, every time you step on. So during a game with four players and three rounds it's going to calibrate 12 times, adding a lot of downtime to the experience. We have a feeling, though, that the higher difficulty curve of the balance board controls will see more players opting to skate with just the remote.

But these issues aren't deal breakers and, as we said, Skate It's multiplayer modes are still a lot of fun. EA is packing a ton of gameplay into this one and Wii owners should be keeping an eye on it.

SM: My attitude is that obviously for 30 years now I’ve been making games and for the vast majority of time I’ve been making the type of games that the loyal Nintendo fans enjoy. Those are the types of games that my career is based on and we’re going to continue to make those types of games. In fact, we have many of those types of games in development right now.

BIZ: Would you like to be able to make more games for the broadening Wii casual gaming audience, or do you think your time is better spent on other projects?

SM: I think it’s very important for us to not only take the types of games that we’ve seen in the past and continue to polish them and make them more immersive and more extravagant, but we must also look at ways to make video games accessible to more people. Like any traditional craft, the more and more you refine those classic styles of games, the harder and harder it is for more people to enjoy them. The next Tournament takes place in the classic Mario Circuit course from N64. For the most part it plays like a basic Time Trial where you get to use Mushroom boosts for shortcuts to get a better final time. Be sure to watch out for the added enemies and obstacles that clutter the track!

Not much has been heard of from development studio Factor 5 since last year?s poorly received PlayStation 3 dragon epic ?Lair.?

But recent reports have the studio best known for a stream of highly regarded ?Star Wars: Rogue Squadron? flight-combat games back in the news , this time for supposedly having been making a ?Superman? game for collapsing game publisher Brash.

Multiplayer reached out to Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht to find out what the story is with ?Superman? and what fans of the company should know about the studio?s status. He provided the following not terribly cryptic statement:

    Thursday 20th November/? Codemasters? today announced that Colin McRae: DiRT?2, the sequel to the acclaimed best-selling off-road racer of 2007, is now in development at Codemasters Studios for the PLAYSTATION?3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft? and Games For Windows? LIVE with further editions for Wii?, Nintendo DS? and PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) system due for simultaneous release in 2009.

    The announcement marks confirmation that the game will be headlined by Colin McRae, honouring the life of the rally legend. Colin McRae, who consulted on the series for over ten years, tragically died in a helicopter accident in September 2007. The decision to continue the famous series bearing his name was made jointly between the McRae family and Codemasters.

    ?Colin McRae was all about the speed, the excitement and the entertainment of rally driving. Even when we first worked with him over ten years ago, he captured a freedom and a spirit that enthralled rally fans.? said Gavin Raeburn, senior executive producer at Codemasters Studios. ?Later his showmanship shone through in events such as the X-games, the Dakar Rally and the Race of Champions. NP: Ten years after its release, Ocarina of Time is still revered by many as the best and most influential game ever made. Why do you think it has made such a large and lasting impact?

EA: Unlike Miyamoto, who had a firm idea of what he wanted to make based on his experiences developing 3d games in the past, I was working on a 3d game for the first time. Since there weren?t any similar games to emulate, I groped around in the dark for quite some time. In the end, when I heard the testers? response, I heaved a sigh of relief.

Since there was nothing to copy, we were forced to be original. I believe that is why we were able to create a game that inspired a fresh sense of wonder in its players?.

Mr. Aonuma also lets us in the the secret of how Epona came to be?

EA: If I said we included Epona because Miyamoto likes horses, that would be oversimplifying it, but that was actually the biggest factor. He wanted Ocarina to be unique, and realized that there weren?t any other games that involved riding a horse?.

Finally, for those of you that think Aonuma should be busy making the next Zelda game instead of doing interviews, this should make you happy.

Monolith Soft revealed a plethora of details regarding future games. As could be surmised based on sales charts, Disaster: Day of Crisis has not sold very well at all. Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamagami has stated that the game is ?performing lower than expected.?

Still, even with less than stellar sales, Keiichi Ono, Monolith Soft director, isn?t ready to rule out a sequel, even if it were to appear on the DS. ??there were so many wonderful options [in the game]. We would like to see the possibility for them, if we have chance to develop the sequel?[The team] can consider [a DS version] if we have many requests.?

Last but not least, it was confirmed yet again today that Monolith Soft is indeed working on more titles for the Wii and surprisingly, the team is ?willing to start developing Baten Kaitos.?

We?ve been posting snippets from the Nintendo Power interview with Eiji Aonuma over the past week or so, but there is one last significant response to be shared. When asked about the success and longevity of Ocarina of Time, Aonuma said, ?I?m happy that a title I worked on some time ago remains highly praised to this day, but that also shows how none of the subsequent games in the series have surpassed it. As someone who is still working on the series, I have mixed feelings about that. Because I haven?t yet surpassed it, I can?t quit. Surprisingly, that simply motivation may be the reason I continue to work on the Zelda series.? As Aounuma explains, he will overseeing the Zelda series (alongside Miyamoto) for a longtime to come. Quite honestly, I can?t imagine a Zelda game without the two of them being involved in the game development, considering how much they have influenced the series.

While Dragon Quest IX being announced for the DS rather than a home console was a big enough surprise in the first place, fans of the long-running series were even more shocked to discover that this latest entry will sport faster-paced gameplay and a surprising MMO-lite option to play with up to four friends. Assuming this multiplayer mode works similarly to the DS-and-Wii-linking Echoes of Time, it makes sense that Square would bring DQIX to the console as well. The only question that remains is whether or not the Wii port will receive a graphical upgrade ? the Wii and DS versions of the new Crystal Chronicles are going to be identical, after all. Hopefully Square will confirm this news soon and give us more details.

Bandai-Namco is hoping for an impressive bit of sales for Tales of Hearts. They seem to have a lot of faith in this game, since they are hoping for somewhere around 400,000 units sold in Japan. Coming off of the well-received Tales of Innocence, Bandai-Namco is promoting Tales of Hearts through various events. They want to continue the good buzz, and are hoping that preorder bonuses and choice of version will make for big impact at retail.

GS: It?s been said for a long time that the Japanese market is shrinking, but Nintendo has challenged that perception. Is it important to innovate like that in order to expand the market again ? and do you think Japanese companies will just wait for Nintendo every time?

KM: I think it?s very important to stimulate and challenge to expand the market. Thanks to Nintendo?s success, we?d like to follow Nintendo?s market. As we know, Nintendo expanded the game fan into seniors and also females with the DS and the Wii. But still, especially for the Wii, only Nintendo titles can make a profit from this market.

GS: In the Japanese market, or globally, you think?

KM: In Japan, especially. I think in North America and Europe, there?s something different about the similar situation. Nintendo titles like Brain Age
and such are dominant in Nintendo consoles.

But for the DS, Nintendo first opened the market, but two or three years later, third-party titles can be profitable in many genres. So for Wii, it?s the same thing. We announced Samurai Warriors 3 is going to the Wii platform ? that?s what we discussed with Nintendo for a long time. Nintendo would like to have titles for our game users.


GS: Right, because that?s not their strength right now, or they need help with that right now.

KM: That?s why they asked us to provide Koei?s action titles. That?s why we decided to number the title Samurai Warriors 3 for the Wii platform. That?s a challenge for both sides ? Nintendo?s challenge, and our challenge.

We understand that if we provide new-generation console machines, Samurai Warriors can be popular in Japan, so we know that. But instead, we chose Nintendo?s platform. I understand Nintendo?s challenge. That?s why we agreed with Nintendo.

Nintendo?s way is to expand the game platform and extend to these people to come into the traditional game way, and the core game way. But I understand that there are many, many casual game players, so we?d like to provide our titles to this fan. But this is not to say this is not Samurai Warriors? It?s a Japanese history adventure game, quite different from the traditional Koei style.

What [EA] really needed to do? was take their core products and get them on the Wii. So get the Wii audience to want to buy Burnout and Tiger Woods instead of coming up with a whole new division to make MySims and Boom Blox and Boogie.

Even though by contract they have to say Boom Blox is great, it didn?t sell that great. And Boogie didn?t sell at all and Facebreakers didn?t sell at all. Those games are victims. Take what you?re good at and convince the Wii audience they need to buy it. Clearly, the Wii audience is willing to buy games. They just need to be sold on why they should buy these games.

I think EA is going to figure this one out, and you know what? They weren?t the only ones who screwed [the Wii] up. But that?s not why they?re blowing up now.
